Jesus said, “You belong to your father, the devil (Satan), and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)
“As for you (believers), you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air (Satan), the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (Ephesians 2:1-2)
All of us (believers) also lived among them (unbelievers) at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.” (Ephesians 2:3)

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil (Satan), and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)
